DKS 1800 Series 18-Gauge Galvanized Steel Standard Flush Doors

Our 1800 Series standard flush doors combine 18-gauge galvanized steel with a full-body polystyrene core and a clean, seamless edge appearance. The non-handed design, reversible hinge reinforcement, and prepared hardware locations help you coordinate commercial openings, while our factory-applied grey epoxy primer provides a uniform starting finish.

Practical Uses

  • Commercial interiors: Choose our flush door design for offices, corridors, and other openings where a plain steel door appearance is preferred.
  • Replacement projects: Coordinate the door size, hinge locations, and lock preparation with the existing frame and approved hardware schedule.
  • Rated openings: Coordinate the required fire, smoke, or windstorm configuration with the appropriate labels, frame, hardware, and installation requirements.

Everyday example: For an office corridor renovation, confirm the opening dimensions and existing hinge locations, then choose the matching lock preparation so your new 1800 Series door fits the frame and works with the planned hinges, latch, and closer.

Fit and Preparation

Our 1800 Series product guide covers multiple sizes and preparation combinations. Confirm your exact size, hardware locations, preparation, and availability with us before ordering; the guide describes the series and does not mean every configuration is included in this listing.

  • Size coordination: Verify door dimensions, frame opening, finished floor, threshold, and undercut before selecting a configuration.
  • Handing: Our non-handed design uses reversible hinge reinforcement. Coordinate the final swing and hardware arrangement with the opening.
  • C: Cylindrical lock preparation.
  • MB: Mortise blank preparation.
  • BR: Blank reinforced preparation for compatible surface-mounted hardware.
  • Other preparations: Our guide includes cylindrical/deadlock configurations with different center-to-center dimensions. Verify the exact preparation against your hardware template.
  • Hardware locations: Match the selected hinge and lock locations to the frame. Our guide includes alternate location patterns, including S-prefix Steelcraft-location 8-foot doors.
  • Continuous hinges: Prepared for continuous hinge application; confirm the hinge template and fasteners for your configuration.

Hinge Locations by Door Size

Our Door Hinge Cross Reference Chart gives the following dimensions for the standard DKS location pattern. Dimensions are in inches, referenced from the top of the door as illustrated in our chart. A, B, C, and D identify successive hinge locations. Use the drawing's measurement points and verify the selected location pattern before comparing an existing door or frame.

  • 3068: A = 7-3/8 inches; B = 37-5/16 inches; C = 67-1/4 inches.
  • 3070: A = 7-3/8 inches; B = 39-5/16 inches; C = 71-1/4 inches.
  • 3080: A = 7-3/8 inches; B = 32-11/16 inches; C = 58 inches; D = 83-5/16 inches.

View our hardware-location reference drawing (PDF). Alternate location patterns use different dimensions. Coordinate lock locations with the selected preparation and approved hardware template; do not substitute hinge measurements for lock centerlines.

Installation Guidance

Install our doors only in a frame that is plumb, level, square, securely anchored, and correctly sized. Support the door while hanging it, use the specified hinge fasteners, and check for a free swing and proper latch engagement before adjusting the closer. Protect the door from moisture and jobsite damage, and keep labels visible. For labeled openings, verify the supplied door label and compatible frame and hardware, and follow our installation instructions before making field modifications.

Problems It Helps Address

  • Visible edge seams: Seamless filled edges and continuous laser welding on both edges provide a clean edge appearance.
  • Hardware mounting needs: Dedicated hinge and closer reinforcements provide prepared mounting locations for compatible hardware.
  • Opening coordination: Our non-handed design and multiple preparation families let you match the intended opening when the correct configuration is ordered.
  • Core requirements: A full-body polystyrene core provides the specified construction for projects calling for this core type.
